  • Price: 159 EUR at Be Lenka

  • My size: 42
    • My foot is 26,3 cm long and 10 cm wide; medium-to-wide; low-to-medium volume

    • 27,3 cm (size chart)
    • 27,3 cm (measured with plus12)

Material and Sole

  • Upper: thick, robust leather
  • Lining: 60% PAD and 40% PU
  • Insole: recycled PU and recycled polyester
  • Sole: 4 mm (without lugs), rubber

The upper is made of thick, robust leather, which feels protective but still light enough. It seems kind of floppy in the photos to me, but it surprisingly doesn’t feel that way.
The shoes are best for spring and early autumn, but work well for warmer days too.

The lining is made of 60% PAD and 40% PU, and the removable insole is made of recycled PU and recycled polyester. Even though these are not natural materials, my feet don’t feel sweaty in the shoes.

The sole is made of rubber and there’s also a reinforced rubber edge, which prevents the water from leaking in. I can confirm that the Trailwalkers work well when the ground is wet.
The sole is only 4 mm thin (without lugs) and very flexible, but it somehow still feels robust enough and offers a good grip.

Fit

  • Width: medium and wide
  • Volume: medium to high
  • Secure around the ankles

The Trailwalkers work best for those with medium and wide feet, but not extra wide.

I’ve noticed that some complain about the high volume, and yes they are quite roomy above the toes. Fortunately it doesn’t bother me at all, but I see how it can be a problem for others.
The shoes still tighten well with the laces as they are less voluminous in that area. Overall I would describe them as medium-to-high-volume.

The Trailwalkers feel secure around my slim ankles even if they look a bit loose.

I picked my usual size 42 with a measured inner length of 27,3 cm (my foot is 26,3 cm long and 10 cm wide; medium-to-wide; low-to-medium volume).
The length is a bit short for my liking as I only have 1 cm of extra space. I wish I had a tiny bit more, especially when going downhill. But sizing up didn’t feel right, as the size 43 felt too long (16 mm extra) and floppy.

My Thoughts

  • Great for outdoor activities
  • Light and flexible, yet secure
  • Love the Mustard!

I use my Trailwalkers for outdoor activities like hiking and running, and I enjoy wearing them very much.
They feel light and flexible, yet I still feel secure and confident on my feet in them on tougher terrain.

I can’t finish this review without mentioning the colour. That lovely Mustard! I feel super cool when I walk around in them.
They also come in Deep Ocean blue, Olive Green and a very subtle Grey.
